WHIS®damper (CLD)
The WHIS®damper is an innovative vibration damping system for steel bridges that reduces noise by using constrained layer damping. It is easy to install without screws or welding, ensuring a durable and effective solution for quieter bridges.
What is WHIS®damper?
The WHIS®damper is an advanced vibration reduction system designed specifically for steel bridges, based on the principle of Constrained Layer Damping. It effectively reduces vibrations by clamping a special viscoelastic material between the bridge components and a thin steel plate. This material converts the kinetic energy generated by vibrations into heat, significantly lowering noise emissions.

The advantages
Easy to install
Panels can be installed without screws or welding.
No road closures
Installed under the bridge, no traffic disruption.
High noise reduction
Can make steel bridges up to 9 dB quieter.
Preservation of the view
Panels installed under the bridge in RAL color are nearly invisible.
Only magnets
The WHIS®damper is designed for quick and simple installation, without the need for screws or welding. This innovative solution effectively reduces noise while ensuring a durable and maintenance-friendly design.
